Usually the speakers are a decent alternative to speakers which are built into laptops. They do get louder than those tiny laptop speakers and are nice to have especially when you stream from a cell phone. Also, their portable so you can place them anywhere you like. However, keep in mind that you have to recharge the batteries.
If you are looking to distribute music in your home and want to set up speakers without drilling holes into your walls then Bluetooth speakers are not the right choice. The wireless range simply doesn’t cut it. Instead, look for some wireless speakers that are designed specifically for setting up indoors that have a wireless range of at least 200 feet. Keep in mind that the range will actually go down as the signal passes through walls. The more walls you have in the way between the source which is the device it is streaming the audio and you speakers the higher the wireless range you will require despite the fact that the speakers and the source might actually not be that far apart.
If you want to set up speakers outdoors especially during the next summer season then look for some speakers which are waterproof. Nothing is more annoying than speakers not lasting because water has crept inside the speaker enclosure.
